![]() | Anyone out there play pool. I play for two leagues. Motherwell and Uddingston. On a Wedneday i play for the Derby Inn at Mossend, near Bellshill. and on a Thursday night i captain and play for my newly formed team, The Athletic Vaults, which is also in Bellshill. The Derby Inn - The best pub pool team in Scotland Well what can i say about this pool team, i have played for this team for seven years and we have won the league every year in the Motherwell District Pool League. We also are the Scottish Pool League Champions, beating other championship winning teams from all other leagues in Scotland. The Derby Inn are officially 'The Best Pub Pool Team in Scotland' Our 2008/09 campain is just about to start and we have stiff competition this year from a newly formed team Bar147 which includes professional snooker players in Graeme Dott, John Higgins, Jamie Burnett and Steven McGuire, along with the No.1 9 ball pool player Pat Holtz and other top quality players. I am delighted that these snooker players have taken up the small table game. Jamie Burnett (only snooker player ever to score a televised 148 break) has been playing in our league for the past few years and is now addicted to the game. |

![]() | The Scottish Pool Association are running a Super 15's tournament at Craig n Tara holiday park from the 20th to the 23rd of November 2008. Motherwell District Pool League are represented along with 31 other Superleague teams from Scotland. Our Motherwell team has 18 players selected from various teams in our league, and are currently looking for sponsorship. We are not looking for any money, we are wanting someone/company to sponsor us for 18 polo tops or shirts, and the sponsor could have their name/company embroidered on each top. The competition will be screened live on the internet and also local papers will be doing a story with photograph on our team. Anyone interested or know of anyone who would be, please contact me on here or by PM Regards Angus |

How do you score a 148?[/quote] You are right mobuck, the highest possible break in snooker is 147, however as Glen points out, if a player fouls before a red is pocketed and the oncoming player is snookered on all the reds, the player has a free ball and can pocket a colour which counts as a red before going on to pocket a colour. So in effect the highest possible break is 155, by pocketing a colour as a red then taking a black which is 8 points added to the now available 147 points on the table gives you 155. You can read how he done it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamie_Burnett[ Last edited by angus1972; September 4th, 2008 at 01:27 PM. Reason: adding link |
